Ecuador faces Jamaica in a Copa America 2024 group stage soccer match on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, (6/26/24) at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Coming off a stunner of a defeat to kick off their Copa America tournament, Ecuador and Jamaica will be both seeking their first points when they square off in Group B action at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Wednesday. The Reggae Boyz asserted themselves well enough as underdogs against a strong Mexican side in their opener, falling by a narrow 1-0 scoreline. La Tri, meanwhile, conceded two quick-fire goals in the second half of their opener, going down 2-1 to Venezuela. After losing their first games of the tournament, who can get back on track? With Argentina advancing to the knockout stages of Copa America after winning their first two matches, it shows how important early points are, especially as we come to a match between teams who lost their opening matches by just a goal. Ecuador are a dark horse to win the entire tournament but with Enner Valencia being red carded in their opening match, they fell to Venezuela and will now look to get things back on track against a Jamiaca side that hung in there with Mexico before picking up a narrow loss. Here's our storylines, how you can watch the match and more: Here’s what you need to know: What: Copa America 2024 group stage match Who: Ecuador vs. Jamaica When: June 26, 2024 Time: 6 p.m. ET Where: Allegiant Stadium TV: FS1 Storylines Ecuador: Not having Valencia in this match may come as a boon to the squad as it allows them to utilize a more balanced attack while figuring out how to play without their talisman. Young Kendry Páez was bright in the opening match for Ecuador along with Brighton's Jeremy Sarmiento but Kevin Rodríguez may be the player to watch in this one. The 24-year-old forward is a player who can take on defenses alone to streach the pitch and after seeing how Mexico struggled to break through the Reggae Boyz defense. Jamaica: Still in search of their first Copa America goal ever, there are positives from Jamaica's match against Mexico but the midfield will need to be better to see off Ecuador. This is a match that will be physical and Jamaica can handle that with what they're used to in Concacaf but if Michail Antonio can't occupy multiple defenders, it will be quite a challenge for Bobby Reid and Demarai Gray to get into space. Prediction While the Reggae Boyz will find the back of the net, it won't be enough as Páez gets a goal and an assist to push Ecuador over the line and back to the road of qualification. Pick: Ecuador 2, Jamaica 1 Team news & squads Ecuador team news Ecuador will be missing their captain, Enner Valencia, for this encounter after VAR ruled his tackle to be worthy of a red card on matchday one. Jeremy Sarmiento, who plays for newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town, scored his second goal for La Tricolor last time out, though he and Kendry Paez both received a yellow card and are at risk of missing their final group fixture with a caution in this match. Ecuador possible XI: Dominguez; Preciado, Torres, Pacho, Hincapie; Gruezo, M. Caicedo; Minda, Paez, Sarmiento; Rodriguez. Jamaica team news Back-up goalie Jahmali Waite started in goal once again for Jamaica in place of injured captain Andre Blake, while Damion Lowe returned to the lineup following a minor knock picked up in World Cup qualifying. Shamar Nicholson has scored three of their four goals in World Cup qualifying and will start in attack alongside Demarai Gray and Michail Antonio. Jamaica possible XI: Waite; Bernard, Latibeaudiere, Pinnock; Lembikisa, Decordova-Reid, Anderson, Leigh; Nicholson, Gray; Antonio. Lionel Messi and Argentina will try to match Spain’s feat of three consecutive major titles when the Copa America kicks off Thursday night. Coming off championships in the 2021 Copa America and the 2022 World Cup, Messi will be four days shy of his 37th birthday when the Albiceleste take the field against Canada at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. “I want to enjoy a couple of more matches being a world champion,” Messi said after Argentina beat France on penalty kicks to win the 2022 World Cup final. He has 10 goals in 10 international appearances since, raising his total to 108 in 182 games for Argentina’s national team. He is either tied for second with Ali Daei or one behind, depending on whether a disputed goal by the Iranian is counted, trailing only Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo at 128. “It is not easy to compete again after winning it all,” Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni said. Argentina and Uruguay are tied with 15 Copa titles each, followed by Brazil with nine. No other nation has won more than two. Brazil features an attack headed by Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo, just off a Champions League title with Real Madrid, and Raphinha. The emerging star is 17-year-old Endrick, who joins Real Madrid this summer. “If you look at every position in their proposed starting 11, it’s probably one of the world’s best players,” U.S. coach Gregg Berhalter said. Spain is the only nation to win three consecutive major titles: the European Championship in 2008 and 2012 around the 2010 World Cup. There will be 16 teams, just as in 2016. The U.S., Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, Panama and Jamaica join the 10 South American nations after qualifying from North and Central America and the Caribbean. Ecuador was to host the tournament under the rotation of CONMEBOL, South American soccer’s governing body, but declined. The tournament was then moved to the U.S., which also hosted the special centennial Copa America in 2016 as Chile won on penalty kicks over Argentina at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Eleven NFL stadiums are being used, including eight of the 11 U.S. venues for the 2026 World Cup, plus three smaller MLS homes. The final will be at Miami Gardens, Florida, on July 14, starting five hours after the European Championship final in Berlin. CONMEBOL says more than 1 million tickets have been sold for the 32 matches. The 2016 tournament drew just under 1.5 million, and the 2019 tournament in Brazil about 850,000. The 2021 Copa was played mostly without fans because of the coronavirus pandemic. This will be the biggest test for the U.S. team before the World Cup — the Americans get an automatic berth as co-host along with Mexico and Canada — and most Europe-based players are expected to skip next year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup. Christian Pulisic, Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie are the core of a team that returns 18 players from the 2022 World Cup roster. In 2016, CONMEBOL partnered with the U.S. Soccer Federation, which was in charge of most of the logistics. This time, CONMEBOL is co-organizing the tournament with CONCACAF, the governing body of North and Central America and the Caribbean. Unlike during the World Cup, the organizers have only short-term access to venues. At Hard Rock, a concert is scheduled for July 6, between the last group stage game and the final, and a new grass surface will be installed. At MetLife Stadium, where a semifinal will be played July 9, staff will look at it as a preview for the World Cup final on July 19, 2026. The stadium has a camera system designed by Arecont Vision and managed by Genetec Security Center that was installed before the 2014 Super Bowl and a new system by Axis Communications is being put in place this summer in the seating bowl with 80 8K, 41-megapixel cameras. Ecuador collapsed in their opening Copa America contest last weekend at Levi's Stadium, falling 2-1 to Venezuela. Jeremy Sarmiento put Ecuador 1-0 up on the brink of halftime despite his side playing with 10 men due to Enner Valencia being sent off for a rash challenge earlier on in the match. Venezuela would go on to take advantage of having an additional player on the pitch in the second 45 with Jhonder Cadiz and Eduard Bello getting on the scoresheet to propel their nation to three points. Like Ecuador, Jamaica also suffered defeat in their opening match at the competition against Mexico. The Reggae Boyz had their backs against the wall for most of the match, and Gerardo Arteaga's long-range stunner was enough to for El Tri to collect all three points at NRG Stadium Saturday night.

Here’s what you need to know: Who: Portugal vs. Georgia When: Wednesday, June 26 at 3 p.m. EST Where: Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany The Australian match-fixing saga had another chapter added it to at as the captain of A-League soccer club Macarthur, Ulises Davila, reached a mutual agreement with the club to terminate his contract, according to an Associated Press story. In May, Davila was accused of getting two younger players on the club, Kearyn Baccus and Clayton Lewis, to work with him on a scheme organized by a South American gambling connect to get yellow cards in matches. Baccus has also been released by the club, but Lewis, who is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, is still with the team. Police say the betting scheme led to hundreds of thousands of dollars being paid out to gamblers. Documents presented at Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court allege Davila, in his role as captain, influenced other Macarthur players to participate in the scheme. Investigators says yellow cards, which are universally issued as cautions by referees for foul play, were manipulated during A-League games played on Nov. 24 and Dec. 9. Macarthur played out a 1-1 draw with Melbourne Victory in the first of those matches before beating Sydney FC 2-0 in the second. All three charged players were given yellow cards in the Dec. 9 game. Police also allege unsuccessful attempts were made to do the same thing during matches on April 20 and May 4 of this year. The Georgia vs Portugal live stream is part of a Group F double bill that brings the opening phase of Euro 2024 to a close. Georgia have been huge fun in Germany and many a neutral will hope the Crusaders can pick up the win they need to reach the knockouts. Georges Mikautadze has scored in both games, his opener last time out in the 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic should have been added to by Saba Lobzhanidze in the game's dying embers but the substitute blazed over when well placed. Willy Sagnol's side attack and want this. Portugal have lost just two of their 17 games under Roberto Martinez and their 3-0 defeat of Turkey was proof their limp opening display against the Czechs was just an isolated aberration. Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to score this tournament, but will become the European Championship's oldest to bag – beating Luka Modric's newly established record – if he can find the net. Georgia will again rely on superb Valencia Giorgi Mamardashvili, who despite being the most shot-at goalkeeper at the tournament has made more saves than any other gloveman (16) and conceded three goals fewer than his xG indicates he should have, based on the chances faced. Portugal boss Martinez may rest a few of his charges, but Rafael Leao is suspended. Already qualified for the Euro 2024 knockouts, Portugal will face Georgia in their final game in the group stage at Veltins-Arena on Wednesday. Roberto Martinez's side have guaranteed the top spot in Group F after wins over Czech Republic and Turkey. Meanwhile, the Crusaders gave themselves some hope as they registered a 1-1 draw with Czechia but will need to pick three points against the Portuguese in order to possibly stand a chance of qualification as one of the four best third-placed teams. Georgia team news Georgia head coach Willy Sagnol is expected to go ahead with an unchanged line-up, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the focus of things. Captain Guram Kashia is a booking away from a ban in case the Crusaders manage to book a round of 16 spot. Georgia possible XI: Mamardashvili; Kverkveliya, Kashia, Dvali; Kakabadze, Mekvabishvili, Kochorashvili, Tsitaishvili; Davitashvili, Kvaratskhelia; Mikautadze Portugal team news AC Milan forward Rafael Leao will face a one-match ban on account of accumulation of two yellow cards, so it will remain for either Pedro Neto or Joao Felix to step in as the replacement on the left side. Joao Palhinha and Francisco Conceicao are at risk of suspension should they pick another booking on Wednesday, while Martinez would think of Goncalo Ramos to replace Cristiano Ronaldo at some point in the game. Portugal possible XI: Costa; Semedo, A. Silva, Dias, Cancelo; Neves, Palhinha, B. Silva, Fernandes, Felix; Ronaldo Portugal have already won Group F at Euro 2024 and will tonight make changes when they meet minnows Georgia in Gelsenkirchen. Roberto Martinez can afford to rest players safe in the knowledge his team are in the last 16 but has confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will retain his spot up front as he searches for his first goal of the tournament. The fact there will be changes will no doubt please Georgia boss Willy Sagnol, who could yet lead his team into the knockout stages for the first time. Still, they will have to overcome the Portuguese tonight in order to so but confidence should be high after taking their first ever point at a European Championship against Czechia last time out. Portugal have looked like one of the strongest teams in the tournament so far but it will be fascinating to see how they approach their final group game. With nothing to play for it is hard to believe that Roberto Martinez will not significantly rotate his side, perhaps withdrawing Joao Palhinha from the XI given that he is one booking away from missing the round of 16. Rafael Leao will already be serving a one-game ban for the two yellow cards he has picked up at Euro 2024. While the stakes are low for Martinez they could not be higher for Willy Sagnol, who opted to do without the more attack-minded Giorgi Chakvetadze in the draw with Czechia. Given that Georgia need a win the Watford midfielder could well find himself back in the XI. Roberto Martínez's team left it late to beat Czech Republic in their opener, but were far too good for Turkey, beating them 3-0 to clinch top spot and book their place in the round of 16. If Portugal are expecting an easy game to finish off Group F, they should think again, because Georgia have proven their worth at this tournament already and have everything to play for. A victory in Gelsenkirchen should be enough for Willy Sagnol's side to reach the round of 16 in what is their first ever Euros. That would be a remarkable feat for the lowest-ranked side in the competition. While A Seleção has been impressive so far in this tournament, we have not yet had a Cristiano Ronaldo moment. This game may see him finally make his mark on Euro 2024. That said, given they are guaranteed a place in the last 16, boss Roberto Martinez may consider giving the 39-year-old and 41-year-old Pepe a rest. The Crusaders have been enjoyable to watch this tournament, giving it everything. However, a big miss by Saba Lobjanidze with the final kick to win their match against Czechia has put their progress in doubt. They need three points to qualify, with a draw unlikely to leave them as one of the four best third-placed teams. It is the closing of Group F, and one of the four teams is already confirmed for the next round. Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Portugal, after securing victories against the Czech Republic and Turkey, now has 6 points and only needs a draw to secure first place. To top it off, they now face what is considered the weakest team in the group, Georgia, despite their very good performance. The team, led by star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, knows they are in search of a miracle, as they need a win against Portugal to qualify for the next round.

With a win, it would clinch a spot in the Knockout Stage as either the second place squad or a third place squad that is among the top four third place finishers. 9 game. Currently at the top of the table thanks to wins over Czechia and Turkey, Portugal is already set to face a third-place finisher from Group A, B or C. Georgia fell just short of earning its first ever win at the European Championship when it earned a draw against Czechia in its last contest. With a win, it would clinch a spot in the Knockout Stage as either the second place squad or a third place squad that is among the top four third place finishers. Georgia must win to stand any chance of making the last 16 in their maiden tournament, while Portugal go for their third win.

The Georgia vs Portugal live stream is one of the concluding games in Group F. After two wins already, Portugal know they are going through, but bottom-of-the-table Georgia still have a chance UEFA Euro 2024 Group Stage concludes on Wednesday, June 26 and among the final matches is a Group F contest between Portugal and Georgia at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Portugal has already clinched a spot in the Round of 16 as it is guaranteed to finish no worse than second in Group F. Georgia must win to stand any chance of making the last 16 in their maiden tournament, while Portugal go for their third win.
