IND vs ENG Guyana Weather-Pitch Report LIVE in Hindi
The pitch in Guyana is expected to be favorable to spin. Moreover, since it is a day game, the wicket might continue to get slower as the game progresses. It will be one of those wickets where scoring in Powerplay might be crucial as once the ball gets older the batters might struggle with powerhitting and strike-rotation in the middle overs. However, should rain interrupt the pitch would get damp and batting might get easier as the game goes.

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: Rohit Sharma speaks
A day before Team India's T20 World Cup semi-final against England, captain Rohit Sharma spoke about the importance of gauging the conditions in Guyana at an event like the T20 World Cup, which is being held across two countries.
"I know it sounds very boring for me to talk about conditions, conditions, because that does matter a lot," Rohit Sharma said at his pre-match press conference. "Because in New York, we saw what the winning score was. So, we want to be a smart cricket team. We don't want to just talk in one language, which is to just go and swing the bat. I think it is important for us to understand what conditions are in front of us and what we have to do. And I have spoken about experience in this group, and we rely on that experience from each player to go out and make that decision, whether it is playing the reverse sweep, whether it is bowling a yorker, whether it is bowling a bouncer. We rely on those individuals to make that decision."

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: What to expect from pitch?
As we turn our eye on the sky on Guyana, focus must also be diverted to the pitch which could play a massive role in deciding the fate of India and England.

Expect this to be one of those wickets where scoring in the Powerplay might be crucial as once the ball gets older the batters might struggle with powerhitting and strike-rotation in the middle overs.

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: Could England play four spinners?
Former England captain Paul Collingwood has said that there is a possibility that England use four spinners against India.
"Adil Rashid is a golden nugget for the England cricket team. When he comes on naturally in the sixth over, I think the one thing about Rashid is, his wrong 'uns seem to be so difficult to pick. And he's got real good deception. Now in T20 cricket, deception is key. Whether it's slower balls, or being able to turn the ball both ways. And he is looking really comfortable at the moment. Indian batsmen generally play spin very well, but I think Adil Rashid, the way that he is bowling at the moment, we just have to wait and see what the conditions are like.
"There’s a chance that England could actually go with four spinners themselves. Obviously, Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone, who is actually an all-rounder who can bowl leg spin and off-spin. And you never know, if the wickets are so dry, you can go with Will Jacks as well. So, plenty of options, but I think Adil Rashid is on top of his game, and this is the beauty of the World Cup. You're gonna have a leg spinner now at the top of his game, confident, up against some of the best batters in the world. And that's why it's gonna be such a good spectacle, and we're all down to see it," Collingwood said during the Star Sports Press Room.

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: Fresh controversy in first semi-final
The pitch used for the first semi-final between South Africa and Afghanistan, which was won by the Proteas by nine wickets, has come under plenty of scrutiny. First, it was Ricky Ponting who had questioned the use of a brand new pitch.
Now, Afghanistan coach Jonathan Trott has also weighed in.
"I don't want to get myself into trouble and I don't want to come across as bitter or it being a case of sour grapes...
but that's not the pitch that you want to have a match, a semi-final of a World Cup, on plain and simple. It should be a fair contest. I'm not saying it should be flat completely with no spin and no seam movement, but I'm saying you shouldn't have batsmen worrying about going forward and the ball flying over their head. You should be confident in your foot movement and being able to hit through the line or use your skills," Afghanistan coach Jonathan Trott said when asked what he made of the pitch.
He went to elaborate: "T20 is about attacking and about scoring runs and taking wickets, not looking to survive. If the opposition bowled well and got to a position where they bowled very, very well and it's through skill, then that's fine and then it's about adapting to that. But once the ball starts misbehaving and rolling... if we had bowled as straight as South Africa had, I think you would have seen a very interesting second half as well. South Africa bowled well, used the conditions, and showed our boys what it's capable of. But it just didn't go our way tonight."

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: Rohit responds to Inzamam's claims
After India's win over Australia, Inzamam ul Haq claimed that some "serious work" had gone into the ball to get it to reverse swing early.
"Arshdeep Singh, when he was bowling the 15th over, the ball was reversing. Is it too early for reverse swing with the new ball? This means the ball was ready for reverse swing by the 12th or 13th over. Umpires should keep their eyes open for these things. If it were Pakistani bowlers reverse swinging the ball, this would have been a big issue. We know reverse swing very well, and if Arshdeep can come in the 15th over and start reversing the ball, it means some serious work had been done before," the former Pakistan captain was quoted as saying on a show called ‘World Cup Hungama’ on Pakistan’s 24 News channel where he was joined by former Pakistan cricketer Saleem Malik.
Now Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has given a fitting reply to Inzamam.
"What should I say now about this. You are playing in such hot sun, the wicket is so dry, the ball reverses automatically. It's happening for all the teams, not just ours. All the teams are reverse swinging. Sometimes, it's important to open your mind and understand the conditions you're playing in. The match is not taking place in England or Australia. That's what I'll say," Rohit Sharma said.

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: India don't consider they have an advantage
Ahead of the T20 World Cup semi-final, India captain Rohit Sharma said they were not thinking about the World Cup final at the moment.
"We don't want to think about the final, which is too far ahead. We want to think about how well we can play and what we can do as a team for us to achieve the result that we are looking for. Sometimes if you think too much, then you will not be able to make the decisions that you want to make on the field. So, I think it's important that we stay clear in our mind about what we want to do. We have had enough conversations with the players, what is expected out of each one of us. So, it's time now to just rely on the individual instinct and then take the game forward," Rohit Sharma said about the Indian team's approach to the contest.
The India skipper has also dismissed the perception that they have enjoyed advantages over other teams at the T20 World Cup.
"I don't think it's an advantage. I'm sure a lot of these English cricketers have played in this venue. At the end of the day, you've got to play good cricket to win a cricket game. The overhead conditions are in nobody's control."

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: Sreesanth compares Rohit's captaincy to MSD's
"Tactically, if you look at Axar Patel, a lot of people were questioning Axar Patel's ability in the middle overs. Whenever he's got an opportunity, he's come out with those crucial breakthroughs. In fact, even his economy rate is so low that it helps the other bowlers. And the catch which Axar took, I think for me, that was the game-changer. Axar even said, 'I was not expecting the catch, but I just went with both hands and it happened to me.' That is because preparation is key. Rohit believes in that ability. We always talk about Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni) and how we won the World Cup and his street smartness. I think Rohit has got the same capability where he can surprise his own teammates. He might suddenly call up his teammates and say 'be ready.' Rohit believes in his instincts and intuition. So, even when the captain does that and surprises his own teammates and tells every bowler to be ready, like Mahi Bhai used to do. He used to tell us, 'Shree (Sreesanth) be ready, Ajit (Agarkar) be ready, Bhajji (Harbhajan) be ready.' You can be called at any time because that's how games are won with street smartness," Sreesanth said on Star Sports Press Room.

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: Should India play Chahal instead of Jadeja?
Ahead of the T20 World Cup semifinal against England, an interesting thought for the Indian think tank is whether they should opt to play Chahal instead of Jadeja.
Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg believes Jadeja should be the preffered player for Team India.
'It's a day game, so the wicket might be a little bit dry. But this is the good thing about the Indian squad — they've got depth in spin. They knew that when they got to the West Indies, they were going to play more spin than pace. But they've still got Siraj there that they can bring in, and they've got Hardik Pandya, so they've got more pace options if they want up their sleeve. Will they bring in Chahal? I wouldn't bring in Chahal right now. I'd stick with Jadeja. You've got to stick with the playing XI that you're going with. I love the thought of the question, though. Chahal against England would be okay. But there's a couple of left-handers in the batting lineup for England as well, which could do a little bit of damage. Kuldeep Yadav has been bowling exceptionally well, and Axar Patel has been going well. Jadeja hasn't been that flash, but he gives you so much in the field, as well as with the bat. And he's a player that, in the right conditions, he can also lift with the ball. If it's not turning and if it suits pace, I reckon Jadeja is a better option than Chahal as well. So, I'd stick with Jadeja,' sais Hogg during Star Sports Press Room.

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: For Rohit, "just another game"
Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has said that India will think of the semifinal against England as "just another game" rather than considering it a knockout match and putting pressure on themselves.
"We want to treat this game as another game that we have played in this tournament. We don't want to think about what lies ahead and what is the context of the game and all of that. Everyone knows in the back of their mind it's a semi-final. But you don't want to keep talking about it again and again and again. And not to think about what has happened in the past," the India captain had said ahead of Thursday.
"The entire group is in a good frame of mind. We are playing well as a team, enjoying each other's company, enjoying each other's success at times as well. I think it's important to just carry on from what we've been doing in this tournament," the India skipper added.

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: Powerplay overs will hold the key
When India take on England today, the powerplay overs, especially when India are batting, will hold the key to the contest.
“India definitely come out a lot harder in the powerplay with the bat,” England head coach Matthew Mott said in his pre-match press conference. “The way Rohit Sharma has led from the front is quite obvious for everyone to see. But that also presents a unique opportunity for our bowling attack to take early wickets. We’ve had to play most of this tournament from behind and with adversity. We’d love to throw that first punch, get in front and really hammer that home.”
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma said: "We don’t want to do anything different (against England in the semi-final). We want to play the same way, understand what the individuals need to do in a given situation and play freely. So far we’ve been doing that consistently and in the semifinals we have to try and do the same thing. It’ll be nice (to play England). Nothing changes for us. We want to focus on what we can do as a team and take the game on.”

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: What happened in 2022?
Indian cricket fans would not like to remember the 2022 T20 World Cup where India had run into England in the semi-final.
At that World Cup, India had lost by 10 wickets to England in Adelaide. That semifinal of the 2022 T20 World Cup might mark the lowest point of their World Cup chase. It's a loss which still rankles.
Current England captain Jos Buttler was a key figure in that defeat, making an unbeaten 80 as England chased down India’s 168-6 without the loss of a wicket.

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: Vaughan claims organisers favoured India
Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan accused the organisers of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 of showing an 'utter lack of respect to players' by their scheduling of the T20 World Cup fixtures. He also claimed, in another tweet, that the Whole T20 World Cup is "geared towards India".
In a tweet on social media platform X on thursday morning, Vaughan said: "So Afghanistan qualify for the World Cup semi-final by winning in St Vincent on Monday night. There's a 4-hour flight delay on Tuesday to Trinidad, so they have no time to practice or get accustomed to a new venue. Utter lack of respect to players I am afraid."
He went on to elaborate in another tweet: "You surely earn the right in a semi final to have at least 1 day's preparation."
Then, he pointed fingers at the ICC for being biased.
"Surely this semi-final (where South Africa beat Afghanistan by nine wickets) should have been the Guyana one... but because the whole event is geared towards India it’s so unfair on others."

A day before Team India's T20 World Cup semi-final against England, captain Rohit Sharma spoke about the importance of gauging the conditions in Guyana at an event like the T20 World Cup, which is being held across two countries.

"Because in New York, we saw what the winning score was. So, we want to be a smart cricket team. We don't want to just talk in one language, which is to just go and swing the bat. IND vs ENG T20 World Cup Semfinal Live, Guyana Weather Today: What to expect from pitch?
As we turn our eye on the sky on Guyana, focus must also be diverted to the pitch which could play a massive role in deciding the fate of India and England.
The pitch in Guyana is expected to be favorable to spin and since it is a day game (Thursday morning in Guyana), the wicket might continue to get slower as the game progresses.
Expect this to be one of those wickets where scoring in the Powerplay might be crucial as once the ball gets older the batters might struggle with powerhitting and strike-rotation in the middle overs.
However, should rain interrupt the game, expect the pitch to get damp and batting to get easier as the game progresses.
